Bit of a strange one this ...

My download history suggests that I have downloaded the following file:

omgbandwidthstealer.pn

From a site that I haven't even visited.

I can't find anything on the net about this file, but given it's name and the fact that I haven't even been to the site it was supposed to have been downloaded from (which is: http://www.adiumxtras.com/)I'm a little concerned.

Any technies out there know owt about this?

Not sure about "omgbandwidthstealer" as a google search does not turn anything up.......... but the website you mentioned just seems to contain various add ons fo "Mac" chat programmes

Sorry I cannot be much help.... but the website seems honest enough thanks for mentioning it a couple of things have caught my eye there as a "Mac" user

The file is a .png file.

Do you use any forums or message board where another person would have stolen an image from this site to use as an avatar?

Because the image is used to replace a hot linked file from that site.

You'd do well to scan for spyware and other nasties using both Adaware and Spybot.Consider a good firewall like ZoneAlarm Pro and a top A/V like NOD32.
