Automatic Email Sending Problem

I have a PC running as a CCTV DVR & server which is set to email me if any problems occur. (Geovision Software)

SMTP server is set as relay.plus.net

When testing the mail connection I get:

1, Prepare to send mail -OK

2, Connect to SMTP server -OK

3, Sending mail data - X

Error message is "Error! SMTP server no reponse!"


I'm thinking it's probably something more to do with the Geovision software rather than an email setup problem, but anyone have any ideas?

and SSL is not on in settings.

The only other thing that can be changed is the character set. But I have tried all the different options in that one.

As you can see on the traceroute it goes out through a router, but I cant see how that could be causing a problem as I can send email from this machine through outlook express.
