Adding to .htpasswd

Is there a way via a feedback form on my website that I can add new users and passwords to the .htpasswd file?

Adding to .htpasswd

You can use the .htpasswd tool on the http://usertools.plus.net/ site to import your existing file, and add/edit/delete old entries.

You can then save the results back into your file.

Adding to .htpasswd

Is this the page that you mean?

http://usertools.plus.net/htpasswd/

I tried importing my .htpasswd (http://www.bond-net.co.uk/directoryname/.htpasswd) but it did not display the usernamen that I put in the file?

Adding to .htpasswd

Details of how to add it to your .htpasswd file. Are there any instructions for it.

Adding to .htpasswd

With the tool, you can import existing files, or create a new one.

To import, paste the existing content into the import section, and import. For a new file, just start entering usernames and passwords.

Once you have finished adding, removing or editing details, you can then generate the output.

This is done by submitting blank details for a new username and password, as per the instructions on the page.

You can then copy the contents from the page generated, and overwrite your existing .htapasswd file.

That is probably the easiest way to update the .htpasswd file, but if you wish to do it manually then use a program such as FlashFXP (FTP program). In here, you can add a command to rename the .htpasswd file to something like htpasswd.txt - You can then open it, modify it, save it and finally rename it. Sounds kinda hard, but this is an alternative option if you wished to do it this way - Use Google if you need more assistance, or feel free to post here and I'll try to help ya.
