Account upgrade - virus warning

Not sure if anyone else has had this yet, but I recieved an email today as seen below, which came with 2 nice attachments:

Quote
Dear user of "Plus.com" mailing system,

Your e-mail account will be disabled because of improper using in next
three days, if you are still wishing to use it, please, resign your
account information.

Further details can be obtained from attached file.

The Management,
The Plus.com team http://www.plus.com

Of course the attachment is a virus and hence I am not stupid enough to open it. But this sought of message is opened by a surprising amount of people and just wondered whether Plusnet were aware of this email or better still were intending to email the client base to make them aware of such a scam.

Account upgrade - virus warning

Hi Stuie,

I can't remember offhand which virus this is, but it's been around for a while. It uses the domain the email has been sent to in the message to try and trick people that it is from the mail administrator.
So for our customers it says Dear user of "plus.com"..., if it was sent to a Hotmail user for example it would have said Dear user of "Hotmail.com"...

I think it was the Bagle - not positive though.

Remember, PlusNet would never send you attachments of this sort. Plus their grammar is a lot better Wink
