Hi
Logged into webmail with safari on ipad, no problem reading emails. I wanted to send a test email to another address. Created a new email clicked send now and got the following 'SMTP error 535 authentication failed'
Should add that I am connected to my router through wi-fi at home using my Plusnet broadband connection.
Any ideas?

Hi farnorth,
Sorry to hear that you're having issues sending e-mails. Did you say that you are actually trying to send an e-mail using Webmail at http://webmail.plus.net? We have had a few customers trying to log into their Webmail using their broadband username which causes issues when trying to send e-mails, for example, when you log into webmail, you only need your account username such as: farnorth and then your account password.
Please let us know if you can try that again for us and also if it is a specific e-mail address you are trying to send an e-mail to. If you could try and send an e-mail to yourself that would be great as we are having a few issues with the sending of e-mails to certain e-mail address. More information on this can be found here: http://www.plus.net/supportpages.html?a=2&support_action=messages&ispservice_id=email and here: http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,104609.0.html.
I hope this helps you resolve the issue.

Hi
>Did you say that you are actually trying to send an e-mail using Webmail at http://webmail.plus.net?< ; Yes exactly that.
Have just tried same thing using my desktop pc. Used n**********s.plus.com and my password. Logged into webmail no problem. I can read the emails in the account, but again when I try to send one I get the same error message, 'SMTP error 535 authentication failed'.
I am trying to send to an fsmail address, as a test.

When you log in, can you log in just with your username rather than your whole e-mail address please and try and send an e-mail again as this may be causing the problem.
