smtp settings on Android phone have stopped working

For some reason relay.plus.net reports authentication failed on my Galaxy. Was working a couple of days ago.
Details; relay.plus.net
Security Type  None
Port 587
Require Sign In ticked
Username Account username+email
Password same as the +email account
Any suggestions please?

Re: smtp settings on Android phone have stopped working

It's just started working again! Weird, I didn't change any settings.

Re: smtp settings on Android phone have stopped working

The settings information looked OK to me. I was about to suggest checking if authentication was working using telnet from a PC. See guide.
However no need since it's working again.  Smiley

Re: smtp settings on Android phone have stopped working

More often than not, any SMTP connectivity issue is reported as an authentication failure issue.
Logically (for whatever real cause) the net result is that authentication could not be verified...  Shocked
