plusnet Email not working via Nokia Lumia 520

I have just got a Nokia Lumia 520 and Im trying to setup my mail accounts using the inbuilt email software but no joy.

Hi there,
The settings you need are all at http://www.plus.net/support/email/setup/settings.shtml - though bear in mind if you use the mobile data connection rather than your home wifi you'll probably need to use your mobile provider's outgoing server (usually called a relay or smtp server).

I followed all of that and im using wifi and it still isnt working, I feel like giving up on it

@lotrjw, Use the 'To enter email account settings manually (advanced)' section in here http://www.windowsphone.com/en-GB/how-to/wp8/people/set-up-or-delete-an-email-account .
Use the settings in the link Matt gave . You could also set the outgoing server to relay.plus.net but use port 587 and authentication ( described here for Windows live mail http://www.plus.net/support/email/setup/windows_live_mail_smtp.shtml , I hope that's similar to Windows Phone ) then your outgoing mail should work from any connection

dont worry the phone has a fault and wont turn on now so I will be taking it straight back as its new as of today!
