not receiving plusnet mail?

I have had to open email accounts in Gmail because I don't get any replies from plusnet, even though I know emails are sent? I think it may be the way my email was set up. Should I be using the long boring version or the short version of my address? I cant explain further or my name and email address would become public.

If you go to http://email.plus.net the Manage My Mail tool should open. Click the Mailboxes tab and you'll get a list of email addresses set up on your account. For the one marked default you collect mail by logging in with your account username and account password. If additional mailboxes have been set up login details differ but I assume this won't (yet) apply for you.
To check your email account works you could go to webmail (https://webmail.plus.net/) and login there using your account username and account password.

If you're already using Webmail, then navigate to Personal Settings > Identities and make sure the email address entered there is correct:
