link a phone for email

I have recently got a smart phone and want to use it for email. I tried to set up my account using my normal Plusnet address but had the answer "Could not open connection to server". I think all my answers were correct but I have no idea about security so left it at "none"

Is there likely to be something obvious that I am doing wrong please?

Hi, a warm welcome to the forums.

Some indication of the phone and the email application would help. Did you put the server details in your self or did the phone try to smart configure?

In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links
