email setup on Lumia 830

Anyone have any experience with the Lumia 830?
Can't seem to set-up plusnet email addy on it.
Incoming is fine but can't send.
Getting error 80072F30 (no idea what that is, presumably a Windows phone error.)
Three things -
* Seems to be no option for setting port numbers.
* Choice of server is POP or IMAP4  (what is IMAP4?)
* Everytime I save the password is alters it from the 8 digit word I entered to 16 digits (hidden).
Here are the old settings which worked on an older Nokia phone -
username: name@name.plus.com
server: IMAP
imap.plus.net
port: 143
PW: ********
auth - sign-in
--
SMTP server: smtp.plus.net (also tried relay.plus.net)
Port: 587
As I say, I'm unable to set port numbers on the Lumia.
Odd that the 'wrong' password seems to work fine for receiveing.
When sending, the mail seems to have gone but actually just sits in the outbox. Later get a 'can't send' error.

I suspect you might have SSL enabled for the outgoing server.
You authentication enabled but SSL disabled. This might help https://www.base.be/en/mobile/handsets-tablets/configure.html#/nokia/lumia-830/e-mail/usecase/manual...

Re: email setup on Lumia 830

What solved it appears to be switching the phone off overnight!
When I switched in on again this morning it was working...
Something I didn't know tho was that, on the Lumia, you have to add the port number after the servername, as you would with a link, with a colon between - ...plus.net:143. (I was looking for a field to enter the port.)
However, that isn't what solved it. This didn't work either. It appears to be the 'restart' that did it.
Edit -
The description on that site is different to the set-up on the phone I have. Newer or older OS I guess?
Odd tho. It appeared to be not working again this evening, however, it was just taking ages to synch!
