email server being rejected

A number of my outgoing emails are being rejected this morning.

1 - Rejected: 212.159.14.17 listed at zen.dnsbl.ja.net

2 - Mail from IP 212.159.14.17 was rejected due to listing in Spamhaus PBL

Can plusnet sort this out?

Is there a different server one can use in the meantime? (I'm just using relay.plus.net)

Thanks

Re: email server being rejected

I'm getting the same rejection message from Spamhaus for a message sent to relay.plus.net at 12:55:

212.159.14.19 is not listed in the SBL

212.159.14.19 is not listed in the PBL

212.159.14.19 is not listed in the XBL

Re: email server being rejected

I also cannot post to recipients whose server uses Spamhaus as of a few minutes ago.

I get a bounce saying

550:5.7.1 Service unavailable, Client host [84.93.230.227] blocked using Spamhaus. To request removal from this list see...

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software on the server avasout1

what exactly does that mean ? why is the blocked Plusnet server sending a message says that it is blocked itself ?

Re: email server being rejected

I've just had our private company email server blocked as well. I've just run through the removal procedure for my companies statuc ip using the removal request system on https://www.spamhaus.org/lookup/

It says 30 minutes but our ip is still listed in the pbl.

edit: 14:01 and my ip is out of the pbl list.

Re: email server being rejected

Don't get it - the message from avsout01 says that avsout01 is on the Spamhaus blacklist, but when I go to the URL that Spamhaus provide to look it up it says 84.93.230.227 isn't on any of their 3 lists

Yet, I still cannot send e-mail to a recipient using a corporate Outlook solution (...protection.outlook.com)

I thought it might be referring to my own IP as the mail sending client, but I'm not on it either.

Huh?Huh

Re: email server being rejected

I had to change my exchange server settings to use relay.plus.net from using direct MX sending.

Re: email server being rejected

I should clarify that I'm seeing these Spamhaus bounces when using Plusnet's SMTP server to post using a mail client. I do not run my own e-mail server from a static IP.

Huh

Re: email server being rejected

Fingers-crossed, this seems to have been sorted out one way or another, and SpanHaus is no longer blocking 212.159.14.17

Hurrah.
