email access for freenetname/madasafish

Hi we are currently receiving 180% quota used in our thunderbird client. So we are unable to download any emails.

Iv moved were it saves the email to a larger drive so i know its not that as an issue.

It seems the quota is set by the the email provider in this case now plusnet.

how do i access my freenetname email account via webmail.

I need to reset my password as this has been forgotten as the account is years old.

Cheers

Dave

The email provider does not set any quotas on email clients. Thunderbird does have File-store size limits - see https://www.softaken.com/guide/fix-thunderbird-maximum-request-size-exceeded/#:~:text=The%20mailbox%....

The MAAF email service has a 250MB server storage quota which cannot be enlarged. How is the Thunderbird client account configured - IMAP or POP3?

Re: email access for freenetname/madasafish

Hi Dave,

In that case, unless you are undertaking regular local archiving of email, there is a risk that your server quota (250MB) is fully utilised.  That though cannot become 180% utilised - if the quota is exceeded then email stops working ... you'll not be able to send or receive new emails.

When seeking to reduce the storage on the IMAP server, remember to check the sent items folder, trash folder in addition to the inbox.
