e-mails from gmail not received

hi,
it seems i can send e-mails to gmail, but am not receiving replies-i knwo of at least two that have gone astray.
Can you advise ?!

Check your spam filter and spam mailbox.

nothing in spam box.
where can i find spam filter settings ?

thx have added the 2 gmails as trusted adresses so hopefully that'll do the trick
