e mail fails to send mail in Win 8.1

Any one having problems with sending mail in Win 8.1,  never had problems before setting the system up I am using outlook 2007, using the inbuilt message system with win 8 everything works fine, anyone got any ideas?

Are you able to provide more information, such as error messages you're getting and the like?

when I try the test e mail account I get error 550-------Send test e-mail message:  The server responded: 550 -------- is this any help?

Sounds like you have a problem with the outgoing server(smtp) settings, check them against the guide here http://www.plus.net/support/email/setup/outlook_2007_settings.shtml and if you are trying to send from a non plusnet connection ( e.g with a laptop on public wifi ) then check the authentication against the settings here http://www.plus.net/support/email/setup/outlook_2007_smtp.shtml

thanks misterw, the last link worked, I am using a different network at present, just a coincidence the two happened together, thanks again
