abuse@plus.net no longer in use

I had spam e mail to my postmaster address, and checking PN webpages it mentions address in header to report to (as an attachment), However, I got this bounce reply.

Re: abuse@plus.net no longer in use

I've tested it and not received a bounceback.

Can you try sending it again?

I've sent this off to the relevant people to investigate.

Strange, I've sent and email to that address with no errors. I'll pass it on internally but it would be good to know if anyone else is receiving the same error message.

Resent original with the spam e mail as attachment and same grief.

Re: abuse@plus.net no longer in use

Sorry, I'd forgotten the context of the opening post. The issue is that the abuse address won't accept messages with a spam email attachment, not that the address itself is invalid. Cry

Re: abuse@plus.net no longer in use

Was the spam sent *from* a Plusnet address to you? If not you'd need to send the abuse notification to the host of the address where it came from really.

Re: abuse@plus.net no longer in use

Chris,  no, spam not from a PN e mail address.

Header shows "cdm@epa.gov.gh".

Sent to variation of my e mail address I never use.

In that case you'll need to report this to the host of that address.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

I'm sure that's correct but it doesn't address the original problem of the PN abuse address bouncing. I doubt if it inspects the headers of the attachments to decide whether to accept incoming or not.

Re: abuse@plus.net no longer in use

The address isn't bouncing as noted above, and why wouldn't you decline spam from a different source, as there is nothing Plusnet can do about it. If it is the case that the headers are being examined then an explanation as to why it was rejected would allow the sender to take the appropriate action.
