Webmail viewing window

Why is the "window" that shows the list of messages less than half the available screen area?
It is a PIA having to scroll up and down to view a few message heads at a time....
surely the page designers can enlarge it to make it easier to scan for "interesting" messages from the spam that is still arriving there...
If it is necessary to have that silly square(cube) with a pimple on , does it have to be "in yer face".... ?
Take a step back.... look at the layout.... and realise it looks very "amateurish" ...

Re: Webmail viewing window

Shutter,
did you know you can drag the border between the top and bottom panes down to see more messages in the top, and it even remembers the pane sizes when you logout? You can even turn the preview pane off.

Nope.... I did not know that ! Cheesy  Thanks  Wink
Does it say this on the screen somewhere? have I missed it?
I wonder what other hidden "features" there are available ?

Re: Webmail viewing window

It may say so in the readme somewhere but I just saw the little dot in the middle of the horizontal divider and thought "I wonder if that's a draggy window pane" - and it was (there is the same in the vertical divider between the folders and the rest of the screen).

Re: Webmail viewing window

Being able to drag the split between sections of the screen is getting increasingly common and appears on various websites. Usually there's some sort of marker in the divider (as there is with the little blob in webmail) to indicate it can be moved.
BTW Had you noticed you can also drag the vertical split between the folders panel and the messages panel?

Re: Webmail viewing window

Are those of you that want changes to layout & etc. having a look at the options by using the Personal Settings button on the top RH part of the toolbar?

Re: Webmail viewing window

I can't see anything in there that changes the layout of the screen.

Re: Webmail viewing window

I don't have the preview pain showing, but notice there's a box on the bottom of the screen to either have preview pane on or off.

Re: Webmail viewing window

jelv, You're interpreting my comment too rigidly  Wink    I said "layout & etc"
Preferences Tab >
User Interface > Rows per page as well as main options
Mailbox View > Show preview pane, expand message threads
Folders tab > subscribed folders
to name most. It's just a pointer about the Settings generally, which a lot of people miss.
