If we let the migration go through then decide we don't need the emails, and if appropiate the web space, how many hoops might we have to jump through to cancel the account with Greenby ?
(A magazine I subscribed to has folded but the supplier has substituted a similar magazine. This magazine is unwanted but seems almost impossible to cancel).

I've no idea but I can imagine that if you just ignore the account and never give them any credit card details, then in two years time when they want money from you to continue to (not) use the account it will die without you doing anything.

@Champnet Why not decide if you want to keep Plusnet or whatever brand before you are migrated and opt out? I have not used Plusnet email for around 7 years so I have opted out.

@RealAleMadrid you’re right I don’t use the email or the included F9 web site but I just renewed my subscription including a full fibre upgrade for a couple of weeks time. I didn’t want to confuse the move, or me, by cancelling but wait till all was settled.

I would welcome your insight on this...?
I received my Migration Notification email and on the whole I do not have an issue on the basis of what is happening but something caught my eye.
There was mention of the primary Company being Enix Ltd and I note that the Greenby website shows in the footer Enix Ltd t/a Greenby and that Greenby was setup in 2025.
So, my question is.....
Is Greenby a unique trading style/operation 100% only for the transitioned PlusNet email accounts (and other web services that PN offered). In other words are Greenbys only customers the transitioned PN customers.
If the above is correct and the Greenby commitment is to be FoC for 2 years with a £15 per annum cost (IIRC this cost was previously mentioned somewhere hereabouts?) thereafter, is there anything in the agreement that PN have with Greenby based on how many PN customers they have and whether if not enough customers to be viable after the 2 year period what would happen to the service or the likely (projected?) costs???

Enix are a domain/web/email specialist company who created a brand, Greenby just for Plusnet.
I can't say for sure, but after the first two years, I'd expect everything to carry on as normal regardless of the numbers involved.

I'm sure I should know this already but I don't, so I'd be grateful for advice.
I have an 'account.plus.com' address.
I haven't yet been informed about my transition, but when the day comes for the changeover will it just happen - or do I have to make lots of changes in the settings etc?
I suppose what I:m really asking is, assuming the Plusnet/Greenby changeover system is working as expected, what's the risk of a delay or glitch at my end that might leave a gap when I don't have access to my account, including incoming and outgoing emails?

Peter,
You have not yet received a communication, because you are not yet in a migration cohort. These are being done in phases, by brand, by characteristic (uses webmail, has a domain name, has a website, has cgi service ...).
You do not need to do anything unless you are doing something not currently kosher, such as using IP addresses instead of server names or some odd-ball userID format. Users doing such should by now have received notification to change (in advance of their migration).
There is no anticipation of down time, but some email clients might take a few hours to resync the local view of the mailbox.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

My setup is vanilla - nothing unkosher - so I think you're telling me there's nothing I should need to do on migration day.
Is Outlook 365 a client that might need a few hours to resync?

It could be any client, though Microsoft365's Outlook being very common, along with the free one, is likely to be most reported if there are delays. The migration of the Freenet accounts having large mailboxes experienced some delays before the clients fully sync'd leading to concerns that the process had failed, when all was really fine.

Can I get clarification on who gets the "free-for-two-years" offer from Greenby? Do all migrated accounts qualify or is it only PlusNet accounts?
As a Free-online account holder, when I login to the Greenby portal, I'm bombarded by the "Your Greenby Email Services will expire in 2... days" messages. Do I get two years or just one month?

The free for 2 years is for current Plusnet customers, regardless of the brand. If there is an error due to contract changes over the years then you need to contact Plusnet.

The answer is if you have a current broadband service at the time of migration, then you get two years for free.
However, there is no direct link between some of the email brand accounts and a current broadband account. Fuzzy matching has been undertaken, based on name and address details ... but for many the address detail on ancient mail accounts might not be current.
I would recommend sending a PM to @dave or @plusnettony with the details of all of your accounts; I would not though hold an expectation that all four of your accounts will be deemed free for 2 years ... you have only the one broadband subscription.
You might want to plan to alter piglett@piglet.free-online.co.uk to forward to piglett@eeyore.free-online.co.uk ... AIUI if an account is left unpaid it will continue to receive email for two years ... with a redirect in place, hopefully the email will forward to an active account.

Well I've heard nothing more regarding my email & domain. No idea when I can expect some kind of detailed info.
One thing I have noticed the last week though is a large increase in spam emails sent to my plusnet email address, something I don't normally experience. I hope this isn't an indication of what to expect going forward..
