I have registered a new domain and now have two domains and my usual account.
Emails go to and from my usual account and my first domain OK.
I can send email using the new new domain name - but emails to the new domain name are returned saying
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'#5.1.0 Address rejected ****@********.co.uk'
yet the set up mirrors the first domain name.
What could be wrong?
Geoff

I logged a ticket and have now been told twice that it had been sorted.
It hasn't.
It has now been suggested that I create a new mailbox - but surely that is not the problem.
I have catch all turned on, so anything that goes to "newdomain.co.uk" should be picked up by "username@plus.net".
It seems that "newdomain.co.uk" is not being picked up as part of "username@plus.net"
Or am I missing something?
Geoff

I think you meant catchallmailbox@username.plus.com!

You are right. I got confused as I was trying to anonymise my address!
I've corrected my e-mail below.
Geoff
Not good.

It hasn't.

I have catch all turned on, so anything that goes to "newdomain.co.uk" should be picked up by "whatever@username.plus.com".
It seems that "newdomain.co.uk" is not being picked up as part of "whatever@username.plus.com"
Or am I missing something?

I'm struggling to see what the problem is here if I'm honest with you
I've checked the entries in our mail database and they all exist for your newly registered domain (2 aliases, a mailbox and a catch-all). I've also checked that the domain returns valid mail exchanger records when querying ours and a third party's caching DNS servers:
dig <domain_removed_for_privacy> mx @8.8.8.8
;; QUESTION SECTION:
<domain_removed_for_privacy> IN MX
;; ANSWER SECTION:
<domain_removed_for_privacy> 14400 IN MX 20 mx-ironport.last.plus.net.
<domain_removed_for_privacy> 14400 IN MX 10 mx-ironport.core.plus.net.
bpullen@pvs-csctools:~$ dig <domain_removed_for_privacy> mx @212.159.6.9

<domain_removed_for_privacy> 14400 IN MX 10 mx-ironport.core.plus.net.
These mail exchangers also accept email for your domain:
bpullen@pvs-csctools:~$ telnet mx-ironport.core.plus.net 25
Trying 84.92.1.65...
Connected to mx-ironport.core.plus.net.

I've sent an email to postmaster@<domain_removed_for_privacy> via both Plusnet's relay servers and a none-Plusnet mail server. Both messages have arrivd intact in your inbox?
Are you only having problems when you try sending to the address from work? If so, do you know what DNS addresses you're using there?

nslookup -type=mx domainname
That will use the default DNS servers on your PC. To check if a specific DNS server has the same answers you add the IP address of the DNS server to the end.
E.g. using the Google DNS server
C:\Documents and Settings\John>nslookup -type=mx bbc.co.uk 8.8.4.4
Server: google-public-dns-b.google.com
Address: 8.8.4.4
Non-authoritative answer:
bbc.co.uk MX preference = 20, mail exchanger = cluster1a.eu.messagelabs.com
bbc.co.uk MX preference = 10, mail exchanger = cluster1.eu.messagelabs.com
This is the best way to check if a DNS change is propagating.
