Re: Unable to send email

@mariehogarth

I would expect it to be relay.force9.net

Is that the problem ?

Re: Unable to send email

If you set up your email using the settings on our help pages, it was pointed out that the text has a typo.

https://community.plus.net/t5/Email/Error-on-support-page/m-p/1369676

So on the help and support pages, the text for setting up email should actually read as:

“If you’ve been with us a while, your domain might be ‘.force9.co.uk or ‘.free-online.net’. If so, change ‘.plus.net’ to ‘.force9.net’ or ‘.free-online.net’ for both your incoming and outgoing servers.”

I have actually updated this article and those changes will be live at some point very soon. Apologies if this is what has caused this error.

Re: Unable to send email

Hi thanks for the response

I have corrected the force9 addressing but still have the error listed below

An unknown error has occurred.

Server: 'relay.force9.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x80070057
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No

Re: Unable to send email

A likely cause of that error is having emails stuck in outbox, perhaps from when the outgoing server setting was incorrect.

I suggest deleting everything in the Windows Live Mail outbox folder, Then close the application and restart your computer.

Try sending again after the computer restarts.
