Unable to attach file in web mail

I'm trying to send someone an email via Plusnet SquirrelMail that contains a zip file (filename.xlsx.zip) but after I select the file via the browse button and I click the 'Add' I get this error:

This is displayed after clicking Add

Am I missing something here?

Re: Unable to attach file in web mail

I thought I'd try the "Advanced Webmail" available from the login page only to get this:

Re: Unable to attach file in web mail

FWIW I managed to get logged in to the 'Advanced Webmail' and send the email complete with attachment. But that still doesn't explain why the basic webmail doesn't work.

Re: Unable to attach file in web mail

Sorry to hear the basic webmail isn't working. I've highlighted this to our products team, however if the advanced webmail works normally I'd probably recommend using that in the meantime.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

Re: Unable to attach file in web mail

What happens, if instead of clicking add, you hit return or enter key on your keyboard? Oh, possibly with focus within the file location text box.

Is the Zip <2Mb? Just I noticed this in my implementation of SM -

Re: Unable to attach file in web mail

@RPMozley If I hit enter with the focus on the Browse button the FSD opens, so tabbing from the Browse button sets the focus to the Add button. Pressing enter on that reproduces the error as above.

Attach File

Clicking on the filename also opens the FSD. As for the file size @southerner the original file in question is 58KB!

Hmm... Looks like squirrel mail is [-Censored-], for file attachments anyway.
