Trying to setup email on Amazon fire 7

Hi, new Amazon fire 7 so tried setting up email as I did on my defunct Nexus. Have checked and double checked all details are correct but it always comes up with an error. It varies between, can't contact server, to password and or username incorrect. I know they are ok so any one got any ideas please.

If you are using a gmail or similar email account enter your address and password and it sets up automatically.
If it is a Plusnet email address you need to set it manually.
In Add Account enter your email address
Tap next enter email password it will then go to advanced settings.
Tap POP3 > enter POP3 server. (mail.plus.net)
Untick Use secure server (SSL)
Enter outgoing server settings (relay.plus.net)
Untick both Use secure connection (SSL) and Use same credentials for Incoming and Outgoing servers
Tap Next and Save.
You should connect.
