I've been using Outlook 2003 for several years, collecting email from my broadband account and from my payg account (both plus.net accounts)
Now I've bought a new PC and upgraded to Outlook 2007 I have problems receiving mail from my payg account.
On my old PC (Outlook 2003) i have the account name as <username>+<mailbox name> and it works fine. On the new PC (Outlook) 2007 I get a 'connection failed' during the Test Connection process using the same parameters, but if i drop the <mailbox> the connection works, however I don't pick any mail up.
I'm now having to use both PCs to get all my mail.
I checked my passowrd with user support and I beleive I'm using the correct one on the new PC, but (obviously) I can't see what password I am using on the old one.
Can anyone explain the differences?
Many Thanks in advance.

Have you turned off Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)?
You may find https://portal.plus.net/support/email/setup/outlook_2007.shtml useful.
Also the password will probably not be the same password as the one you use for logging on to the portal as they are individual to each mailbox.

Thanks guys - mailpv worked a treat.
My mailbox password was different to my account password, despite what i was told by plus.net support. It has been a while since i set it up, so i can blame old age
I was a bit concerned by the 'attack threat' warnings when i googled it, but as i was running it on my old PC which will be flattened soon I don't mind if it is a danger.
Thanks again HP, Jim and jelv
