Strange characters in email text received on Android 'phone

Email text received on my Android 'phone frequently include odd characters.
Always an "=" sign and often "=20"
I don't know what generates these characters, can I eliminate them?
Regards.....

Re: Strange characters in email text received on Android 'phone

=20 is a space character in Quoted-Printable. It will be due to the way your mail client interprets the encoding. View the same message using a a different client like Webmail and you probably won't see it.

Re: Strange characters in email text received on Android 'phone

Thank you Bob.
You are right, no such characters are in the email from the Forum notifying your response and read in Live Mail, however, re-directing your response to my mobile and the message contains "=20" and "=3D" characters.
I guess I have to change the email client in my 'phone to possibly eliminate this issue, or perhaps the best solution is to use PlusNet webmail instead!

....very sorry, Bob.  Forget the time-wasting emails re webmail.  Webmail is not really practical to use on the phone due to small screen size!

Plenty of alternative email clients for Android. You might want to give one of those a whirl if the problem really irks you.

Many thanks, Bob, I have installed K-9.
K-9 not only eliminated the spurious characters, not only easy to install, but is very user friendly.
Regards and thanks again.....Noel

One other thing to watch for is an Android KitKat, and above, sending a text to an Android phone pre KitKat. The smileys come across as hieroglyphics because KitKat introduced emoji's or whatever they are called.
Let's be careful out there !
