As per my private posting, my ideal choice is; do NOT remove the existing 11 filters as they are still in use and working okay, but I'd be very pleased if you could add fredz@ to that list.

Should be sorted now Smiley

Re: Spam filter discarding emails despite discard being "off"

As an after thought question...

Is there any prospect of "User" definable filters arriving any time soon?

Thanks

It's certainly something we'd like to do, but there's nothing in the pipeline in the short/medium term Sad

Re: Spam filter discarding emails despite discard being "off"

That really is a strange business, does that mean a Plusnet user has no control over anything related to their account, mail, addresses etc?

Maybe it's just that we old FNN/Madas users were lucky, and that nobody else does such filters these days...

I really wouldn't know what the state of play is now, as since 1996 when I first joined the Internet, I've only changed ISP a couple of times.

No, on the contrary, a Plusnet mail account offers a *lot* of control (some might argue: too much!). You can see the wealth of spam settings in the attached screengrab.

Unfortunately, there are inherent differences between the way FNN/MAAF and Plusnet email addresses work (remember, we acquired FNN/MAAF, after we built the Plusnet email platform), meaning it's not trivial to extend this level of control to MAAF customers.

Re: Spam filter discarding emails despite discard being "off"

I get what you are saying, and I've looked at the grab (Thanks for the view) but I still don't see any users configurable filters that would enable me to filter out specific email addresses from the everything-else-junk@my domain.

Like the fredz@mydomain you recently sorted for me.

Maybe that would be in the Aliases tab, or possibly Mailboxes...

Unfortunately another problem has reared its head again.

Received a posting from a Madas support ticket today, some of which I don't understand, but I can't get at the ticket to answer, as it will not accept my login details (They are correct) This happened a while back when I tried to reply to another ticket, so I'm annoyed, but not that surprised.

Ah Well!

Thanks

Ax

Ps: I guess what would be ideal for Plusnet... If we, FNN/Madas folks, transferred our domain hosting directly over to Plusnet, I wonder how that would work out?  Smiley

Re: Spam filter discarding emails despite discard being "off"

Guess this is my final note on the subject.

The behind the scenes folks seem to have sorted the filter and spam problem... I've done some tests of my own...

So I'd like to make a public thanks them for that, and a particular note of thanks to Bob for his efforts to get this sorted.

Thank you Bob, appreciated.
