Should account password be secured?

Hi, whilst installing and setting up Thunderbird on a new Windows 7 system I've just built it flagged up security issues with the account due to the fact that the password is not encrypted. Do Plusnet email accounts support password encryption?

Re: Should account password be secured?

hi Buggwrit,
Our email service does not require password encryption.  It might be worth validating that your configuration is correct using our setup guide here:

Any issues let us know.

Re: Should account password be secured?

Hi Alex,
I know your service does not require password encryption and mine is now set up and working on the new system exactly as it was on the old. I simply wanted to know if your service supports encryption, which I feel would be a sensible option.

Hi Buggwrit,
Our email servers do not support password encryption.  If enabled the authentication will fail.

Ok. Thanks. I shall hope that may become an option in the future.
