Thanks all for replying as problem now solved by logging in to my very old user name engineer (and was surprised I remembered the old password) and creating another email name ###@engineer.plus.com

Just can't remember with plusnet and dial up as it was 2003 and before 2003 can't remember if I used emails erm and I can't remember when I changed to fibre

Excellent! If the account you’ve logged in as the username engineer is showing as dial up then it’d be a free account and unrelated to any other accounts.

Just a follow up and AAMOI
The reason I wanted to add another email address ###@engineer.plus.com as using "haveibeenpwned" the existing one had been breached...but for some strange reason this email that I have been using for years is not listed when I go to my old dial up account for engineer.plus.com 🙄 Anyway I'm not going find out why as I won't be using this email address anymore but new ones.
