Can you view other websites OK using your wi-fi connection? If so then I'm struggling to understand why you can't reach http://webmail.plus.net
A better option might be to set up the mail application on the tablet to collect mail from imap.plus.net (sorry, have never played with one so can't be much more specific than that).

Bob, Thank you for reponding...
I can reach webmail on my Samsung...My problem is, that I do not understand how to set up to access my email when away from my pc.
There is a superb guide submitted by "James" on the Support Library - 27 Jul 09 - which explains how to set an IPhone, however I'd like to know if there is an explanation/illustrated guide for the Galaxy ?
Regards,
T.

Do the instructions on the knowyourcell site here help?
I assume you will want to use IMAP on port 143 for incoming and outgoing will be SMTP on port 25 with authentication using your main account user name and password (the ones you use to log into the member centre.

There isn't but if you manage to get things set up then perhaps you could create one? (Anybody can create support library articles and submit them for moderation). I'm sure it'd be worth a month or two's free broadband!

For anyone interested in writing a Support Library article there is an illustrated guide here.

Hi I have a Samsung Galaxy S phone and have been struggling to set up my plusnet email to be accesses by my phone.
Heres what I have found worked for plusnet after after searching the forums
In addition, there is a useful guide to setting up pop3 and imap on know your cell
POP icon - click
"Set Up email" heading:
Email address - I enter my email address
Password - I enter my usual plusnet password
click option for 'manual set up'
"Add new email acc" heading on next page:
It offers me three types of account to choose: 1) POP3 2)IMAp 3) exchange
I click imap option
asks for username - I have used username + mailbox
Password - it is pre populated, so I continue
Pop3 server - is pre populated with my username.plus.com - I change to "mail.plus.net"
Port - prepopulated with "143" - i was advised to use 125 by the technical team, however I found that 143 worked instead !
Security type - pre populated with "none"
Imap path prefix - prepopulated with optional
Delete email from server - pre populated with "never"
I click next and "checking incoming server settings" is displayed
after a moment or two the next page is headed"outgoing server settings"
SMTP server - pre populated with "my username.plus.com" - I change to "relay.plus.net"
Port - pre populated with "587", changed to 25
Security type - pre populated with "none"
Require sign in is is checked - I've left it checked
username - prepopulated with my main a/c username
password - prepopulated with my password
click next
"checking outgoing server settings " appears
then I get "set up finished".
You can now select Account options:
Email checking frequency (15 minutes by default),
Send email from this account by default (check box),
Notify me when email arrives (checkbox) -- make your selections and tap Next
you are then giving two final options
Give this account a name (optional)
Your name to be displayed on all outgoing messages
hope this helps
Thanks
