All of a sudden after a good number of years, the internet has now decided that my non existent bank account is locked and my penis is too small 
Any way of getting rid of this spam now or is it time for a new email address (not Plusnet)

Have you checked that spam filtering hasn't been changed to off unknown to you? My Plusnet address receives only a trivial amount of spam (1 message per month) though messages of the type you mentioned come into a non-Plusnet address in occasional waves.
The spammers probably find a way of evading spam filters - then filters catch up after a while.

I have seen an increase including Marbella Property Update - they must think I am rich or just that they are desparate
