I have just started encountering this outgoing email problem - has been fine up until now.
Setup:
I am using Thunderbird and Avast! - both up to date - on Windows 7 Home
Some emails go via Plusnet (relay.plus.net) and some go via my own domains SMTP depending on the email address I send from.
My domain (not hosted by PlusNet) SMTP requires authentication.
This problem only occurs when I set Avast to 'Scan outbound messages' and send emails via my domains SMTP.
Problem:
Emails are rejected and I get the following (also attached):
An error occurred sending mail: The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: rblsmtpd: 87.112.237.27 pid 8597: 451 http://www.spamhaus.org/query/bl?ip=87.112.237.27.
I appreciate that I can just turn Avast's Scan outbound messages off but would prefer not to.
Any enlightenment welcome, thanks
Peter
