Quote Go into applications and select email. Touch the left hand button at the bottom of the screen and on the pop-up menu touch 'more'. Another menu pops up and select Account settings.
You should then be able to enter your Plusnet account details and server settings to complete the operation.
On the server settings I've used: incoming server settings POP3 server mail.plus.net using port 110 and outgoing server setting relay.plus.net using port 25.

It's always better to use port 587 rather than 25. I'm not aware of any network which blocks port 587 ( and I've tried a few! ) whereas it's known that some definitely block 25.
Quote but if it doesn't work using port 25 it's worth trying port 587
I notice that the android setup guide referred to earlier does actually say use port 587. Maybe some of the other email client guides on smtp authentication should be changed...

POP3 or IMAP
POP3 downloads your emails to a mail client (e.g. Outlook) or another device, usually it then deletes the messages from the Plusnet server so they cannot be seen by any other mail client of device. There is an option to leave a copy of the emails on the server. If you send emails they are only visible in the program or device you use to send them. If you want to have a copy of an email you sent from the S2 appear in Outlook the only way is to BCC yourself.
IMAP is a far newer way of accessing emails. All the emails stay on the server and the mail clients just takes copies when you read the messages. When you delete an email in your client it also gets deleted from the server and so the next time another device accesses the mailbox it is deleted from there also. When you send messages a copy us uploaded to the server and it will appear in the Sent folder of other devices. When you use https://webmail.plus.net/ that uses IMAP to access your mailbox. Generally if you decide to use IMAP it's best to use it on both the phone and outlook although you can use a mixture.
When you log in to https://webmail.plus.net/ can you see your old emails or only new messages that you haven't yet received in Outlook?

You've managed to get every setting there wrong!
SMTP server: smtp.plus.net or relay.plus.net (either will work)
Port: 587 (or 25, blocked by some carriers)
Secrity Type: NONE
Require sign in: TICKED
Username & Password: same as those used for POP or IMAP settings
