It was known not to be a PlusNet email problem all along, since it affected non-PN email accounts. I think it's a fair bet it's not a PlusNet network problem. As you saw with the problem of slow delivery of emails, it's not something to be ruled out, however. The particular 'feature' in our PlusNet router that was causing the slowdown has, however, been bypassed and no longer causes that particular problem. The repeat signon business continues, though.
Until Microsoft comes up with a diagnosis, I can't totally rule out a PN network/router issue. You have speculated on the possible mechanisms by which Outlook was previously preserving our signon credentials across successive receive cycles, and I can't as yet rule out a PN reason for this to have changed. Maybe 90%.
