Reading emails on Samsung phone

@NickyS did you ever get your emails back? I had the same problem, a couple of months ago, they had disappeared on server as well as on my phone, leaving only about one week of emails.

Just recently I seem to have lost some key emails.

Re: Reading emails on Samsung phone

Thanks Plusnet Help team. Apparently you archived my emails with no warning and notified a different email address, or maybe you archived the email you sent. I never saw it. So then after a month you deleted the emails. Maybe you could have notified the email addresses of the emails you were deleting?

Re: Reading emails on Samsung phone

Archiving of one or more email boxes due to exceeding the FUP (fair usage policy) is notified to the account contact email address. Such action follows weeks of usage over 75% warning emails sent to the contact address.

Archiving due to a mailbox not being accessed for over 90 days is notified to the mailbox being archived.

In hindsight some users realise that the contact email address on their account is one they do not use any more. Checking closed tickets on the account (use the link below) for messages related to FUP archive actions. should indicate the email address which was notified.

Re: Reading emails on Samsung phone

Please could you consider in future sending the warning emails to the address you are going to delete!

I can now see from the messages sent that you sent numerous messages to another account, and did not archive any of the messages to that account! Had you archived the messages on that account the other messages would have made sense, and it would have been sorted within the 30 days. As it was, that person had no idea what why the emails to the other account had disappeared.

It was not clear except hidden away near the bottom of one of the emails that there could be an impact on other people. Why not send the warning to the people who will be affected?Huh

Re: Reading emails on Samsung phone

GDPR etc.

FUP archiving messages are sent to the account contact email address. It is a requirement on the account owner that the account contact email address is monitored. Is it being monitored?

If mailboxes are being accessed regularly the removal of content due to archiving would have been very visible.

Your response suggests that the account contact email address is not being monitored and the archived mailboxes are not being accessed regularly.

The mail service is a legacy offering, changes to how it works are unlikely.
