I have used Plusnet email for 20+ years and it has not always been trouble free. Particularly these last several years with slow delivery , send and receive complete failures , problems with sending to other players like GMail addresses , Outlook , Hotmail ... Spam problems.
Is it likely that things will get better under Greenby ?
I imagine that email is their focus and business.

It seems to vary, person to person. By and large I haven't had serious problems over the years with PN Email via Webmail - from time to time I have had the (traditional!) slow working. I am one of those who, mysteriously, have never suffered from SPAM emails (or via phone calls) - apart from a very brief episode of 8 SPAM emails earlier this year. The first I have received in years, if not decades...
I am only recently aware of one missing incoming email and cannot be certain it was not accidently deleted. I await with trepidation the transfer to Greenby... 😎

I find email these last 5 years to be less and less reliable. I have a friend that we email a lot and as it is an outlook address often falls over. I use my Gmail account more and more. Then there is the slow Gmail delivery sometimes and sometimes I cannot send anything for a few days. Its hard to keep up with the politics or server hops that get in the way. I find now that WhatsApp is becoming my preferred method of communication which is a shame. I hope under Greenby that things will improve but maybe I am mistaken and it is a malaise of email in general.

Plusnet send seems to have packed up with :-
Sending of the message failed.
An error occurred while sending mail: Outgoing server (SMTP) error. The server responded: avasout-peh-004 smtp ESMTP server temporarily unavailable due to lack of resources.
I expect it will be better in a few hours , thankfully I have GMail. Hopefully Greenby can better this.
