I'm using IMAP on Thunderbird and the PN mail service is still playing havoc at the mo. Hope you continue to have better luck with POP3.

I can confirm IMAP on Thunderbird will probably allow you to access emails, but it's like treading through treacle trying to pull the messages from the PN mail server. It's a bit of a nightmare for anyone trying to access more than a handful of emails per day.

Just had to turn off my subscriptions to this forum because of the number of thread posts leading to email notifications! PN mail is slow enough already without having about ten an hour from the PN Community as well...

For those of you who may not have noticed it yet, check out DW1's posting...3rd heading on topic list of community forum page...with the suggestion of contacting BBC Watchdog. Excellent suggestion I think and one I will be following up on.

Yes, still funny. Gotta keep a sense of humour. Although I do note the wand of censorship previously re that email address. Do you really think we believe such a REAL address would be available to the customer base? NO, I've seen it around the web, a dummy address that said person NEVER even looks at. PN staff appointed to answer/fob off complaints on behalf of MR. ANONYMOUS, "and that will make them feel better about it, even though we won't do anything".
As usual, another PN sham.

I realize that this adds nothing, but I am completely fed up with dysfunctional web mail facility.
All the service status keeps saying is that it is being worked on. That would be good but it has been no good for ages now.
Plusnet should not do this to customers.

When I was “in IT”, changes were ranked in two discrete ways:
- impact of an outage (noticeable to the end-user) occurring
- likelihood (which was related to the complexity of the change)
Anything other than a Low/Low needed a backout plan.
The same process applied to applications changes as well as infrastructure changes.
As a professional services organisation, PN must naturally have an approved backout plan for these email infrastructural changes.
