I have my force 9 emails coming in through the mail app on iPhone but since updating to IOS18.1.1 I haven’t been receiving any emails. Today I checked my emails through the Plusnet web mail tool and there were loads there that I haven’t received through iPhone.
I have tried deleting my mail settings and then adding again and it keeps saying the IMAP server is not responding. I tried POP instead but same.
Are Plusnet aware of this problem? Anyone getting these issues?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

Hello, a warm welcome to the forums.
DO NOT attempt to use POP as a substitute for accessing a mailbox previously used as IMAP. They are very different and you will end up in a pickle.
IMAP uses the server for all emails - inbox, sent items, drafts and deleted email. POP3 handles all of those locally and in in its default setting REMOVES emails from the server. It will not provide access to sent items held on the server.
I have upgraded to IOS 18.1.1 and have not encountered any issues with accessing my (many) PN mailboxes, so I doubt that there is a specific issue with the upgrade, but rather your have some other, time related (coincident) issue. IOS mail is a tad notorious for suddenly stopping to work. There are lots of discussion to be found via Google, such as this iPhone Mail doesn't sync IMAP messages - Apple Community
Do you get a specific error?
If there is no error reported (account settings are fine) then this might be as simple as setting the IMAP root folder (in the mail account settings) to inbox
Note that you can safely delete an IMAP client account on the iPhone without giving matters a second thought and not lose your emails. The same cannot be said of a POP3 configured client.

I did initially restart the phone and the emails came in but since I’ve deleted that mail account and now can’t even set up a new one.

That sounds like simple mistyping of credentials.
Are you attempting to connect using the email address or using the account name?
If the phone connected over a Plusnet WiFi connection or over mobile data?
If mobile data, is the mail application permitted to use mobile data?
Have you changed the mailbox password?
The fact that you can access that mailbox via webmail, somewhat points to the possibility of an issue with the special character(s) used in the mailbox password.

To add the account using the mail application I’m using the mailbox name and the password which hasn’t been changed. I don’t think I can actually change the password as I have no Plusnet account?
All the credentials are right. It’s something to do with the update Apple have incorporated into IOS 18.1.1 (maybe very old accounts no longer supported). Wish I’d not updated now!

Hi,
You mention imap.force9.co.uk. This is incorrect; the correct server should be imap.force9.net

Thanks

Apologies Jon for joining your conservation but for 3 weeks help desk has been trying to get my ****@ic24.net e-mail working after suddenly loosing all access to it.
There are reams of data on the help desk Twitter + FB accounts as well as this forum under ic24.net webmail so I won’t repeat it here.
If possible I should be most grateful if you could help me as at 81 e-mail is my life line for contact to Doctor etc.
