Plusnet migration to Greenby

On the 2nd of October I received an email from Plusnet stating that Plusnet email services were being migrated to Greenby by the end of October. I posted a message on X to Plusnet support as requested on the Plusnet website raising queries that I had. Over a week later my queries have gone unanswered, apart from the automatic replies stating that my post had been received!

My queries then and still are

1. Why such short notice?

2. Currently emails sent to <anything>@<mydomain> are directed to my globalnet email address. Will my domain (which dates from when I was with globalnet) continue to be directed to my email address?

3. The email states that I will be charged after 30 days, but the FAQ states that Plusnet broadband customers (of which I am one) will not be charged for 2 years - which statement is correct?

I now have a fourth query, why was my post on X ignored?

I am now grossly disappointed by the level of support from Plusnet, email support has gone, chat has been removed from the Plusnet website, and posts to Plusnet on X are clearly ignored.

Re: Plusnet migration to Greenby

@Scrolin

On the 2nd of October I received an email from Plusnet stating that Plusnet email services were being migrated to Greenby by the end of October.

Does the email actually say you are being migrated by the end of October OR just that you need to make some configuration change in your email client to ensure your email continues to work post October ?

Currently emails sent to <anything>@<mydomain> are directed to my globalnet email address.

As far as we know, accounts with hosted domains will be the last to be migrated and certainly not by end of Oct!

The email states that I will be charged after 30 days, but the FAQ states that Plusnet broadband customers (of which I am one) will not be charged for 2 years - which statement is correct?

Both!. Where the email and the Plusnet broadband account are the same, then its free for 2 yrs. However, there are some accounts where the email is not a Plusnet broadband account ( globalnet in your case ), normally these would be chargeable after 30 days. However , where the user also has a current Plusnet broadband account, it will be free for 2 years but it does require some manual intervention for Plusnet to arrange this at the point of migration, so the standard email doesnt cover this.

The sentence following the selective quotation covers such loyalty!! Wink

You will need to raise a specific case query with support.  It has not always been possible to match long term legacy email accounts with current broadband accounts, generally due to changes to contact details.
