Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@Townman I tried that, it didn't end well, the most logical option is 1, which hung up on me, if you can advise on which of the IVR options to take I'm happy to try again.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@dave I'm in a similar position to Phoenix, when I changed to ADSL from dial-up I was told I had to have a new account/username/subdomain rather than upgrading the same account. As I'd got emails set up on the original account, and it kept running, I've left that as my main incoming mailbox (outgoing has to be on the new account to login in to SMTP). Is it possible to merge the two accounts using the original dial-up username? I can PM details to you if that can work. If not I'll have some redirecting to do. Thanks

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Option 1 worked for me (eventually) - while talking to the support rep he mentioned that you can also get in touch via Instagram(?) or Facebook if Xitter doesn't appeal as a support route (I only had a Twitter account for contacting companies that insisted on using it for support but deleted my account around the time of the Musk buyout)

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

As for a 'well managed and supported service'.... I just looked for a support email address for Greenby/Enix.

The support webpage came up with some FAQs that consisted of website placeholders that meant nothing and that weren't clickable. A search box said "let us know a little about why you want to contact us" and everything I typed returned the following: "greenby.com says... 10"

I'm no nearer to finding their contact details.

I just want to be sure the rather unusual (and uniquely useful) way that Plusnet allows any 'local-part' to prefix the @XXX also the ability to 'blackhole' individual addresses etc... will all be fully maintained. It is suggested that everything will work exactly as it does now... so I will assume it will.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

How will I know my metronet email account has been moved to Greenby?

Will I get an email from Plusnet and/or Greenby?

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

You will get an email from Plusnet before the migration and one from Greenby after the migration.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@Phaeton comms to additional customers on hold while we review, I'm out of the loop this week as I'm working away on something completely unrelated so not had chance to catch-up. Will get back to you once I've caught up with the rest of the project team.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

Yes, quite a few junk mails being received daily. I assume Plusnet have dropped certain defences.

I also have a Metronet address, but this is not mentioned in Greenby's FAQ's. Will this still be valid?

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

28th May 15:50

My metronet email address is no longer working, ie if I send an email from to my metronet account nothing happens and I suspect I'm not receiving any emails on this account (it was working earlier).

If I repeat the same test on another email account ie (non metronet account) send email to myself on that account it works; if I send an email to my metronet account from this alternative account it's not received.

I've not received any emails stating the transfer to Greenby for my metronet account is underway yet (nor at the moment it appears could I receive any).

I would like some confirmation that my metronet account will be moving to Greenby.  If at the moment you want to contact me , by email, I can supply my alternative email address  as this is working.  (Alternatively use this forum)

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

If you can drop me your metronet email address, I'll take a look. No changed have happened yet, so things will continue as normal.

It may be tomorrow when I get back to you.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@dave Have you been able to catch up on this? Ideally my original dial-up account would be given the 2 years free at Greenby instead of the broadband account I was forced to move to when upgrading. As I had set up many email contacts on the original account I left them there and so I have barely used the broadband account. That could be a very simple answer, just change the flags on the usernames.

Re: Plusnet email moving to Greenby

@SilverE yeah we've been looking at this over the last couple of weeks. Comms to any further customers has been onhold for the last couple of weeks while we work through this but we now have a dataset of accounts where using the data we hold we can match at least one of contact email address, house name/number:postcode, mobile number and/or landline number to an active broadband account. Those who we've already sent a migration notification email to will shortly receive an update email to say it's now 2 years free.

Thanks @dave that's good to hear, it'll save a lot of faffing about here.
