My elderly father-in-law has just signed up to Plusnet, fibre broadband and phone having recently moved house. He cannot set up his Plusnet email on his mobile phone to receive the notification that the broadband is live, as he has forgotten his login password. If he goes to the plus.net/forgottenpassword page on the website a link is sent to the email address he is trying to access!
How can he proceed?

I am sorry to hear about the issues your Father in Law is having with his passwords.
I am presuming your Father in Law remembers his account username and Plusnet email address.
You can find these details, in the welcome letter we would have sent him.
What you will need to do first is, go on to logging into your Plusnet email inbox, and select forgotten password on this section.
Once he has his email password reset, he can then proceed to have his member centre login details reset as well.
