POP email service not working this morning (26 October 2017)

None of my e-mail accounts with Plusnet will download messages to Thunderbird. Other mail accounts (like those on Gmail) are fine).  The problem has only occured this morning.  is there a problem with the POP servers?

My plusnet addresses were not working for incoming mail yesterday afternoon and evening.

However today they are all working fine  !!

When I tried to report the matter yersterday to Plusnet they tried to make out there wasn't a problem with the email system and I  then mentioned the community posting of other users.

I was told that this sample only resembled a small number of Plusnet customers  and if there was a  major problem they would have had a lot of phone calls on the subject !!!!!!!!

All I can suggest is you wait a few hours and try your email addresses again again, or get on the phone to Plusnet  and complain.

Not working for me using Outlook. Other POP server that I use is fine.

I have the same issue .. Thunderbird 52.4.0 (32-bit) has not been downloading messages from POP3 this morning but hangs before an error popup that does not give any sort of cause. 

My mobile phone won't sync either.

Wife's mobile phone does however sync!

Is there a way to debug the Thunderbird POP3 fail by perhaps snooping on the packets from my PC?

Same here so I had to use the web based service, which I must say, has been improved a lot.
