Outlook on the Web - Incoming emails not received

I  have tried to set up Outlook on the web to receive my plusnet acccount emails. Sending is working fine, but Incoming are not receiving. When I go into Outlook Sync settings the Username and password are not shown on the account each time. 

I have set up 

Incoming  IMAP mail.plus.net   and port 110  Authentication Basic  , Encryp  SSL

Outgoing relay.plus.net   465 

 

Appreciate any help in sorting this

Hi , I am trying to set up for my plusnet username emails to go through Outlook on the web, rather than Outlook 2019 on a PC. 

Surely Plusnet can publish what settings to use.

@Robs55 What errors do you receive, if any?

Sorry I can't give detailed guidance - I don't use MS products.

It looks like we don't have permission to get email for phil@therobs.plus.com.
Account Status:
The last successful sync was on 01/01/0001 00:00:00 UTC.
How to Fix It
If you're using the new Mail experience in Outlook.com:
• On the toolbar, select the Settings icon, then select View all Outlook settings.
• Select Sync email to see your Connected accounts.
• Check the details for the connected account that's stopped working and correct the problem.
If you're using the Classic version of Outlook.com:
• On the toolbar, select the Settings icon > Mail > Connected accounts.
• Check the details for the connected account that's stopped working and correct the problem.
Note: To stop receiving these notifications, please remove or fix the connected account that's not syncing.
Microsoft will never ask for your password over email.
This system notification isn't an email message and you can't reply to it.
 
It tells you to correct the problem, but I dont know what to do when I have used the settings shown in the Plusnet guidance. I did use incoming port 993 on imap.

That's all greek to me - as I said, I don't use Microsoft mail clients, but I will try and point this to someone who will probably be able to help, if and when he's around.

What are all the settings you’re using? Attach a screenshot showing them if it’s easier. Just make sure you redact any personal info

Hi, miraculously it has started working. There must have been a long delay as I didn’t change anything in the couple of hours beforehand. Thanks All for you help

Having just re-read post #7 with a clear head, I have a feeling it may have been Outlook being slow to configure - note the date/time on there.

There might well have been issues with outlook today. I totally lost connection to my oulook.com service via both my phone and PC.

Frankly I would not be using any one service to harvest all of my mail from elsewhere. Aside from the risk of complex technical issues as reported here, one is courting the possibility of the failure of one email system inhibiting access to all email accounts.

Then there is the matter of sender IP address email submission rate limitation to inhibit denial of service attacks. All users of a service such this will ‘present’ as a single source for SMTP submission and might find sending fails further to the user collective having sent too many emails in the time period..

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.
