Outlook 365 cannot synchronise

Hi,

 

I have been happily using Outlook 365 to access my virginmedia email account using my plusnet broadband.  I was away for a few days and now I cannot get emails this way.  I get an error message - 

Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for *****@virginmedia.com.' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for ******@virginmedia.com. Error: Cannot connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

The PC is connected to the internet - browsing works fine.  I can also access my email on iphone and ipad using the same plusnet broadband.  

 

Any help much appreciated!

Hi @camahl Welcome to the Plusnet Community forums. Smiley

Since the connection to your Virgin email works on iPhone and iPad it looks like the problem is specific to your PC/router connection.

For starters I suggest trying a router restart to refresh its routing tables. If the problem persists deleting the account from Outlook then setting it up again from scratch is worth trying.

Hopefully one of these will fix the problem,.

Deleting the account in outlook and re-installing it seems to have cured the problem - many thanks for the suggestion!

 

It really shouldn't be this flaky - but that's a Microsoft problem, not plusnet.
