Not receiving emails

Hello,

I have been trying to set up my email with Thunderbird using my plus net email account and its just not working.

Its now  sending  emails, but,  i still cant receive any.

I used the incoming and out going servers for imap  from the plus net website.

Hi @Herdini 

A warm welcome to the forums.

So you have set up Thunderbird and it all connects without a grumble (like account / password not recognised) but there is nothing appearing in the INBOX?

Is there anything in the SENT ITEMS folder?

The server details published on the Plusnet website are flawed, but if you followed the flaw, you would get a connection failure to the inbound server.  They should be...

  • IMAP (inbound) mail.plus.net port 993 encryption TLS/SSL
  • SMTP (outbound) relay.plus.net port 587 encryption STARTTLS

If the above are correct, you should change the IMAP root folder setting to inbox

... then make Thunderbird refresh the IMAP folder structure.

 

I do not use Thunderbird so I do not know exactly how Thunderbird implements the last suggestion.
