Not Checking SPF Anymore?

I've just been looking at the headers of received emails and found that there aren't any SPF references. I'm sure that there used to be.
Why the change? Its a useful simple way to guard against domain forgeries.

I think the SPF entries were associated with the IronPort anti-spam system which was replaced by Cloudmark last October.
