No "Catch All" on hosted domain

I've just set up a 'migrated in' host domain email, with it's own mailbox, using Thunderbird as email client.
I can send and receive emails OK, but any 'Catch All's' at the new domain are undeliverable, with the following error message:
The reason for the problem:
5.1.0 - Unknown address error 550-'#5.1.0 Address rejected
The Catch All for the PN domains is working fine.
Catch All is switched 'ON'
How can I get the new domain Catch All,
(a) To Work ? &
(b) To send any Catch All's into it's own mailbox
(I want to keep that domains email separate from the PN ones )
Regards

Re: No "Catch All" on hosted domain

As far as I am aware you can't separate the domain from the normal email.
For example jim@username.plus.com is not differentiated from jim@mydomain.co.uk
With respect to catchall it works the same way
If I send an email to notme@username.plus.com or notme@mydomain.co.uk they finish up in the same place - the catchall I have set up for my account
In other words you can't have two catchalls

Re: No "Catch All" on hosted domain

Thanks for that, I suppose I can just re-direct at the webclient to move it back into the proper inbox, but at the moment I'm getting no catch all at all from the new domain. May raise a ticket ?

Re: No "Catch All" on hosted domain

That seems the next step as you should be - but before doing that how long has the domain been with Plusnet as the systems may not have picked it up yet

Re: No "Catch All" on hosted domain

The new domain finally went live on saturday evening, and I only set the email up this morning. The actual email address was working by lunchtime ?

Re: No "Catch All" on hosted domain

So, if I understand correctly, an email to fake@username.plus.com goes to the email account on username.plus.com nominated as catchall but an email to fake@mydomain.co.uk doesn't go anywhere whereas it should finish up in the email account on username.plus.com already nominated as catchall.

Re: No "Catch All" on hosted domain

If your have a catch-all on for your account, this should work for the domain too.
Given your notes, I suspect I know the problem. The following should help.
First, disable the catch-all, wait a min and re-enable it.
Depending on how many domains you have (class your included address as a domain), multiply this by the total number of aliases, mailboxes and redirects. If the sum is 30 or greater, you need to raise a ticket and ask us to refresh your mailbox component. There is no need if this figure is below 30.

Re: No "Catch All" on hosted domain

Old "Wise"Jim, Quite correct.
Mr. Richardson, I've now done that and I'll wait and see what happens, I'll re-post in 30 minutes if it's working or not. (Many fewer than 30 domains/mailboxes !)
I presume then that the Catch ALL for the new domain can't be directed into that domains own mailbox ?

Re: No "Catch All" on hosted domain

It's now working, thank you both for your input.
I'll set up a filter in Thunderbird to send any back into the proper mailbox.
If you can do anything at the PN end as per my previous post, please do so.
