Re: No email this morning 10 November

We are all having problems with our emails. Inside information tells me that Plusnet intends to drop its email service in the spring and we we all have to find different email servers.

If there is any truth in that it is utterly disgusting that we haven't been told - and time someone set everybody straight.

Re: No Email Access

Don't bother calling Plusnet, they just trot out the same diatribe on the service status page and cannot seem to discriminate between delayed sent and received mail and not being able send mail at all. They also think the service status also covers not being able to access the Members Centre.  Refused access to a supervisor too.  Certainly not the company I joined 20 years ago.  Anyone know of an equivalent email capability (unlimited mailboxes, redirects, aliases etc) that could be used as an alternative?

Re: Email problems

Thanks @wphil

That info does seem to suggest that the servers have held on to messages sent to Plusnet addresses, and the log jam is for Plusnet customers trying to access messages. I'm no expert by any means, but @Townman  might be able to shed some light as he does appear to know a lot about everything related to Plusnet email

Re: Further to yesterdays email problem -this post is aimed at Plusnets techies please

Hi @penneck

I'm afraid we can't see what your passwords actually are as they're encrypted in our database.

You should be able to reset a password for the default email address and your account by going Here.

For additional mailboxes you'll need to go to Manage My Mail at plus.net/email

Let me know if you need any further help.

From 31st October 2022, I no longer have a regular presence here as I’ve moved on to a new role.

How reliable is that 'inside information'? Without being funny, my sources are probably a little more reliable, and they don't know anything.

Re: No email this morning 10 November

@gixerkarl What do you mean they're running down the email service?

A the time of my previous email problem, I was informed  - exactly as people have aired here in this and similar threads concerning the present email crisis - that email no longer rates as an important service by PN, that it's a kind of legacy from the past, that it's barely supported, and that in-house email expertise is no longer available.

Sill unable to send/receive emails - ex ic24/Madasafish customer

I'm also still having trouble accessing my emails - I had a couple of emails come through to my .plus.com email address, but that is not the one I use as my primary account - my main email address is one that I have used since migrating from ic24 via Madasafish many years ago.  I am unable to receive emails to this account via Outlook and I still can't log in to web mail.

I know I'm not the only one still experiencing problems, but please can I check that I'm not doing anything wrong and/or not doing something that I need to in order for email to work again.  Or alternatively, please can someone tell me when @ic24.net emails will start working again?

Many thanks.

Caroline

Re: No email this morning 10 November

When I had an email problem about a month ago technical support told me that Plusnet was discontinuing all their email services as it was not a profitable side of the business. We will all have to find new email accounts with other suppliers. This will happen around March 2022. We will be warned about a month in advance and they will bounce our emails to our new chosen email address for a short while. Unless we all protest enough I guess?
