New to Plusnet and email just will not work.

I think I have followed the instructions to the letter from Plusnet's guide for Windows Live Mail 2011 and for Iphone(pad) but I just cannot get my emails in or out.... I am desperate to know what i am doing wrong. Can anyone pleae help me?

I hate to suggest it but downloading Plusnet Assist just might sort it

However before doing that
When you joined Plusnet did you set up an email or are you trying to use the email from your previous provider or gmail

wow...thanks for the speedy response... I wish the email was as efficient!
I have set up the plusnet email address and worked through Plusnet's guide word by word. Plusnet assist tells me it has sorted any problems but I can't receive mail although I can now send. I have tried sending from my plus net account back to the same account. the email goes but does not arrive.
I am hopelessly lost... beginning to wish I hadnt changed...

Lets take this a step at a time
If I understand you correctly you can send emails OK but your email you have set up doesn't receive them.
First go to https://portal.plus.net/my.html?action=myemail&s=1&redirected=yes&?membermenu=emailsettings then click on Manage My Mail
Are there any email addresses set up.
Assuming that there are can you go to webmail https://webmail.plus.net/src/login.php and login using the format username+mailboxname is there anything in the inbox

Hi...
yes I have set up the default email address plus three additional mailboxes.
I find it odd that if i send an email through my webmail from my default email address to the same address, it appears in the sent folder but does not arrive in the inbox.

I have just tried from my default mailbox which in my case is username@username.plus.com to username@username.plus.com and it arrived OK (although not quite instantly)
But sending one to username@plus.com or username.plus.com failed miserably - nothing arrived
It sounds a little as though you aren't putting the email address in correctly
The email address for each of your mailboxes will be
mail1@username.plus.com
mail2@username.plus.com
and to receive emails in Windows Mail the logon will be
username+mail1
username+mail2
The logon is not mail1@username.plus.com etc.

The default user name I am using is
name@username.plus.com and the email I sent to was name@username.plus.com
I havent started using the other email mailboxes as yet

So in windows mail is the login set up as username+name
If it is it would appear that something is a bit adrift.
If you can wait until the Digital Care Team are on board on Monday it will be checked and sorted I am sure

To login to the default email address the login name is just your account username and password is the account password (those you use to login to the Member Centre).
The login format username+mailboxname with mailbox password is used only for additional mailboxes.
