My sent emails delayed or blocked: can I find where?

I have sent emails to a relative who is abroad. They are addressed to her at a co.uk web hosted domain name owned by her partner's company.
Is there any way I can ascertain, where en route the hold-ups are occurring?
No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

Re: My sent emails delayed or blocked: can I find where?

If one is only delayed then looking at the routing information will show where the delay was and possibly the block

If they haven't turned up at the other end yet then there's not really an easy way without access to our outbound server and the recipient's inbound server logs.

I am also suffering this, I have made three attempts to send and e-mail  to a G mail address since 6th April, none have been delivered. I sent one to my son on  a BTinternet account on 4th April, not delivered, tried again tonight with him on the phone, he sent me one to confirm his address, got here in under two minutes, did a direct reply, not received, did a second ten minutes later, got it ok, did a third with a BCC to me, I got the BCC he got nothing

That involved us having to check our server logs for the necessary entries Pierre.
Whilst we'd love to do this for everybody who finds the odd email going missing, it's not really practical if I'm honest. Not when the vast majority of the time the problem doesn't reside with us.
@lucerne, if the problem ends up being persistent and you can confirm that...

  • You don't have problems sending to any other email addresses?
  • The recipient doesn't have problems receiving from any non-Plusnet customers?

... then raise a support ticket, post the reference here, and I'll see what I can do.
You'd need to include:

  • Email address you're sending from?
  • Outgoing server address you're sending through?
  • Email address you're sending to?
  • Time email was sent?

Ideally would need to be a very recent attempt to send mail too (we only keep the logs for so long). You might also want to try sendign the message using Webmail (if you haven't already) to make sure it's not a problem with a locally installed email application like Outlook (assuming you're using one).
@Midnight Caller, no I don't think it's a Gmail issue.
Regarding Gordo's problem, are you sure the messages are bouncing or are they just failing to send in the first place? Reason I ask is because I've dealt with a few people recently having problems trying to send messages since Gmail introduced threaded conversations. Seems to be more a change of behaviour though rather than 'problem' per se.
