Madasafish Error 0x800CCC0F Unable to Send Mail

From the Ticket logs it would appear that an 'auto-refresh' was done last time and it just started working again.
Viewing archived threads seem to suggest that this is a server problem at the Madasafish end of things .....
So..... is anyone else having a problem?
Can anyone at PlusNet check this out for me (I have raised a ticket with Madasafish, but would like a
more permanent solution)?

However, I still cannot log into Webmail (which I do when I go away from home)....
Very strange combination of circumstances! My first ticket from last night
was closed without comment. So I have opened another one this morning.
Anyone with a freenetname.co.uk address getting into Webmail? This would
at least narrow it down to me as opposed to a server!!

I've made a change that should allow you back into Webmail. Let me know if it happens again and I'll do a bit of digging. I don't think it's a service-wide problem, it's more likely a problem with your individual account.

Well, whatever you did it worked as I can now sign in to my WebMail AND send/receive emails from my laptop AND my Email: setting now
shows my email address rather than "Not Active"!!
I have had this account since at least 2001 so it has gone through a lot over the years to get to PlusNet!

As of around 9pm tonight my fault has reoccured - I am getting the Error No: 0x800CCC0F and cannot receive/ download any mail.
but - I CAN send my mail, I CAN log in to Webmail and my email address IS in the "My Account" section of MAAF.
Is this coinciding with any server upgrades etc going on?
I have logged this with MAAF Support as well.

As of 8am this morning my mail is being sent successfully - so not sure what it was but I am ok now.....

getting the same Error No: 0x800CCC0F (I know this off by heart now!)
Everything else is ok....
Can anyone do a permanent fix on this problem for me???

We have had similar problems to what you describe in the past but not for quite a while. Not sure we ever found a reason for it tho'.

As of 9.00am this morning I have been sending emails, so possibly:
a) someone out there at MAAF/plusnet has done something
b) some where a server or piece of equipment has been refreshed overnight and sorted the problem
Hopefully it will stabilise now.... otherwise this will again be topping the Email subjects!!
If you search on the fault number 0x800CCC0F within the Forum it does seem to imply
that it is a server problem.

Can MAAF please sort out their freenetname servers or something as this is now happening
every couple of days.

That should make zero difference unless something local to you (Internet security software?) or your ISP is interfering with connections to the server using port 25
