Mac Mail Security

I've tried to link my email address to Mail on my Mac, but get a message saying mail cannot be sent securely to mail.plus.net.

There seems no point in having an insecure password. What can be done?

Re: Mac Mail Security

mail.plus.net is the POP3 server for incoming mail, not outgoing; the latter is relay.plus.net.

However Plusnet do not provide SSL/TLS (secure) connection support for mail at the moment so passwords have to be transmitted insecurely (plain text). Sad

Using them outside the home environment needs to be given careful thought.

Wow. I find it astonishing that any serious ISP does not provide encryption for email. Plain text transmission of login credentials is utterly insane.
