Legit email rejected as spam by relay.plus.net

Tried to forward a joke to multiple recipients (Bcc) - it bounced with a 552 message (spam).
Resent it as plain text - bounced again.
What's happening?

Re: Legit email rejected as spam by relay.plus.net

No, I am afraid I cannot - Outlook 2010 doesn't give me that option.
What is puzzling is that the original sender of said joke is also a PlusNet subscriber using the
same SMTP server.  It didn't bounce for him.  The server even bounced a "thank you" reply I sent to
him alone but, as far as we can see, let other messages addressed to him through.

Re: Legit email rejected as spam by relay.plus.net

I encountered that when I Googled it but, alas, neither solution works.
(Outlook is useless.)
I suspect that the anti-spam tool PlusNet has set up is treating this email
as spam indiscriminately as it has multiple addressees.
Now SMTP via relay.plus.net has stopped working altogether.
This tells me they have a problem tonight...

Re: Legit email rejected as spam by relay.plus.net

24 hours later and the problem in relation to this email endures.
I have found a solution to the additional problem of PlusNet's SMTP server rejecting
my log-in when using two other domains.  I have spent a little money, paying it to
another service provider who can service my email needs without interruption
and unexplained rejection of my legitimate email traffic.
PlusNet, if you deploy an anti-spam solution, I suggest you make sure it works
properly before inflicting it on us customers...  Angry

Re: Legit email rejected as spam by relay.plus.net

In the return message you get we need the full error message so we can see what's causing the bounce. Does the message content contain any links or websites? Can you raise a ticket with the full bounce (and content if possible) of the email and I'll get one of the guys to take a look.

Re: Legit email rejected as spam by relay.plus.net

If it's our relay server that's refusing the message then the same thing should happen when using our new Webmail platform. If you try sending via that medium then it should fail and the message will end up in the Drafts folder. If you then tell us which mailbox it resides in then (with your permission), we can log in and take a look?
